From its inception, the Animas Museum has depended on volunteers. Even today, with three paid employees, they are an essential part of operations and programs.
Volunteer Opportunities
Dedicated and detail-oriented volunteers are needed to help process a variety of interesting objects, artifacts, photos and papers that have been donated to the Permanent Collections.
The Museum needs volunteers to greet and assist museum visitors, sell items in the gift shop, help with research, and perform other office-related tasks.
The Thursday morning gardeners who maintain the Museum's award-winning gardens could use more help, and you may choose your own hours once they show you what needs to be done.
For people who have special skills and can't volunteer on a regular basis, we can always use help with specific jobs such as constructing exhibit modules, painting, trouble shooting computer problems, and so on.
