Volunteering
From its inception, the Animas Museum has depended on volunteers. Even today, with three paid employees, they are an essential part of operations and programs.
Volunteer Opportunities
  • Dedicated and detail-oriented volunteers are needed to help process a variety of interesting objects, artifacts, photos and papers that have been donated to the Permanent Collections.
  • The Museum needs volunteers to greet and assist museum visitors, sell items in the gift shop, help with research, and perform other office-related tasks.
  • The Thursday morning gardeners who maintain the Museum's award-winning gardens could use more help, and you may choose your own hours once they show you what needs to be done.
  • For people who have special skills and can't volunteer on a regular basis, we can always use help with specific jobs such as constructing exhibit modules, painting, trouble shooting computer problems, and so on.
